... and I’m so glad you’re here. As a counsellor, I’m passionate about supporting women and mothers on their unique mental health and life journeys.

Kristie Burkett RCC CCC

Hey there,

I'm Kristie

I have a deep passion for supporting mothers through all stages of parenthood

I earned my undergraduate degree in Child and Youth Care Counselling in 2012 and recently completed my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University in 2024. I am currently registered with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association as a Canadian Certified Counsellor and with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors as a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC).

I have a deep passion for supporting mothers through all stages of parenthood—whether during family planning, pregnancy, the postnatal period, or beyond.

As a neurodivergent parent of a neurodivergent child, I bring both professional expertise and personal experience to my work. I have a particular passion for working with individuals and families navigating life with ADHD. I understand the challenges ADHD can bring—such as emotional regulation, executive functioning, and self-esteem—and I strive to provide practical strategies and affirming support. My goal is to help clients harness their strengths, build confidence, and develop tools to thrive in their personal and professional lives.

I also help women navigate the complexities of divorce or separation with empathy, focusing on fostering resilience and healthy co-parenting dynamics.

Additionally, I work with women facing significant life transitions, including career changes, relocation, loss, or other major shifts. Together, we explore ways to navigate these changes with confidence and create a path forward that feels meaningful and aligned with their goals.

Using a variety of therapeutic approaches—including somatics, mindfulness, EMDR, person-centred therapy, and elements of CBT, DBT, and Narrative Therapy—I strive to create a safe and nurturing environment. I believe in tailoring my approach to each client’s unique needs and helping them build confidence, resilience, and a sense of empowerment.

Every individual, family, and relationship is different, and I am here to provide personalized support that celebrates your strengths and addresses your unique challenges. Together, we can navigate the complexities of mental health, motherhood, ADHD, relationships, and life transitions - fostering growth, healing, and connection.

I’m truly looking forward to working with you!

My goal is to help clients harness their strengths, build confidence, and develop tools to thrive in their personal and professional lives

We are currently working on setting up direct billing for Kristie. For the time being, we can direct bill Medavie Blue Cross and Green Shield, but otherwise her sessions will be self-pay, and we would advise checking your policy for coverage for a psychotherapist/psychotherapy if you intend to submit for reimbursement. As always, we do offer a lower rate if your insurance doesn't cover Kristie's services. Please inquire to admin@lunacounselling.ca if you have questions about direct billing.
